Dark Lightning

Dickish on both sides, but I would like to point out that the photog probably got paid some bucks and shouldn't bitch too much. Didn't happen at my wedding.

Excuse me?  People invited to the wedding get fed.  Photographer is invited, therefore photographer gets fed.  If it were me, he wouldn't even have to ask for food.  The fact that he's paid is neither here nor there.

Yes, he is hired and you do feed him. Not because it's a wedding because he is working. You feed the musicians, no? It's ridiculous to think otherwise, imo.

Ikr?  What's he supposed to do, leave the wedding and go to McDonalds?  Bring a bagged lunch and watch other people eat chicken carbonara and cake?

On a purely practical level, the correct answer is to feed him, to say nothing of a host's duty to guests (even guests paid to provide a service).  Personally, I consider it a major breach of protocol if no food is offered or accepted at a social gathering.

I have recently discovered that this idea of host hospitality is far from universal:

That map seems off a bit--at least from personal experience.  both of my grandparents (on mother's side) were born and raised in Sweden.  I spent several full summers with them and tons of other visits.  Whenever a guest showed up, invited or not, grandma always furnished something to eat; and it did not matter when that visit occurred. They lived in Portland and then later moved to a little farm north of Portland.  There was a fairly large group of Swedes living in both Portland and the little town of Scappoose where they had their farm.  Grandpa was always going to one Swedish farm/household to do repairs or help with some task or another.  He and I were always offered coffee and food of some sort every time.  I was lead to believe that that was the norm where they came from in Sweden, as well.

In America? You absolutely don't do that, what do you want handouts for some hippy bums?

Doki Doki Literature Club. It's modeled after a typical dating simulator, but it gets real dark real fast. The GF won't make it a fourth of the way through the game without dropping her jaw and saying, "What the fuck?"

It's a dating sim that goes the psychological horror route about halfway through.  Really tugs at the ol' heartstrings.
