Blackleaf

This just in: IT Chapter 1 and 2 glorifies spooky clowns terrorizing and murdering children.

Godzilla seeks to normalize giant lizards leveling entire cities in battles with giant insects.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory supports candy-based child abuse.

Well the reaction to pennywise killing a gay man in the sequel offended enough people at the shock that he wasn't a gay ally after all.

LOL, I meant I want Quill's gear and Groot and Rocket, themselves.
Rocket had an impressive collection of artificial eyes and prosthetic limbs.

I'm confused. Gay men can't die in a movie?

And penny wise was a gay ally? The interdimensional horror man slaughtering beast beyond comprehension? That's who you want gays to be associated with?

Don't chase links.

Okay, but gay men can die in a movie, it's just that in this case people assumed an evil other dimentional being disguised as a clown was somehow a gay icon in 2017, but ended up in shock when he eats a gay man's heart out in the sequel. If they actually read a summery of the book they'd at least have known that was going to happen in part 2.

Well, killing off the gay guy has become sort of an overused trope. There's a tendency to see those characters as expendable. Basically the new "black guy dies first."

But this wasn't THE gay guy, it was his friend. IIRC. Only seen the second part once.

I thought the Joker was one of the better films DC has put out in a long time. It's an unusual movie, but it is engaging.  Origin stories are always of interest to me too.  Well done, DC.

in this case, as it happened in the book that was written decades ago, you can let that one slide for the sake of paying homage. also maybe the director did it knowing it would have that reaction, rather the leaving it out.
