Trump doing boneheaded stuff is not a surprise.  I met people like him in my career.  They have this weird talent for for wrong almost all the time, but sucking up to higher management as they ruin everything to pieces.

They remind me of people who drive too slow, change lanes suddenly, signal left while moving right, and leave accidents in their trail, all the while wondering why so many people have accidents right behind them.

Trump is an deliberate accident-causer who seeks chaos.  I can't wait for the Democrats to start exposing his political, family, and financial illegalities in 2019.

Chaos is very profitable.  Called Shock Doctrine or Crisis Theory

Crisis theory.  That is socialist too.

See, ever since industrialization, we produce more goods than we can consume ... Capitalism/Socialism ... fraternal twins separated at birth.

Partly because of the uncertainty created by Trump the stock market has been quite volatile lately. I wonder if it's about to crash? It is a chaotic (in the mathematical sense) system, one that could be very fragile. It may not take much to destabilize it.

All Democrats want Armageddon, so they can have the cold satisfaction of saying "I told you so".  Markets are naturally chaotic.  Just like the ...

I bailed out in March at Dow 25,000, expecting that Trump would basically "ruin everything".  I would have gotten out at 26,000 in Feb, but I wasn't sure if interfund equity transfers caused tax liabilities (Apparetly they don't, but the IRS will tell me in a few weeks).

That not "timing the market"; that's "seeing that an raving idiot will screw up everything he touches".

Well, as I've said, I think he's there to screw up everything he can - except, of course, his own fortune.

I would be surprised if he did screw up his own fortune, but maybe there are masochist billionaires hiding somewhere.

My guess is that if you subtract out what he owes Putin's bankers his "fortune" is largely an illusion.

That is true for about all tycoons.  And most of them aren't even raccoons.  Do you understand that every dollar, paper or digital, is a debit, not a credit?  So if you have a million dollars (now, not 100 years ago), you are in debt to the government for a million dollars plus interest?  It matters if you are the credit end or the debit end.  So basically, since 1971, Americans have fought over who can best play "button, button, who's got the button" aka Musical Fed Chairs.

My guess is you're completely right about that! I think he only pretends to be a billionaire, when he's really just scamming along as a con artist, increasing his "brand" by using the office of president to make financial gains.

The Cowardly Lion, if I recall the lyrics exactly.  Elon Musk is a classic con artist.

Where the fuck did you study economics?  Trump University?

I think he learned economics the old fashioned way - by navel gazing until he got enlightened.
