For those not in the loop, certain tabletop games require dice to play.  Initially, people buy just the bare minimum amount of dice to play the game properly, then a spare, then maybe another set because the previous ones weren't "lucky" enough, then a shinier set...and before you know it, you're sitting on a pile of dice.  Such people are often referred to as "dice goblins", and there's an ongoing debate about how many dice are okay and how much is excessive.
