Quote1. The Biggest One- THERE IS NO GOD. They would have no problem telling a dying child there is NO God. Clearly they have no idea if there is or there isn’t. They assume their conclusion is the only right one.
2. They say they have “Open Mindsâ€. We know that is not the case. When presented with spiritual issues they always dismiss it as fictitious, invalid or unsupported stories.
3. Christianity teaches you to not think. Atheist assume that the Bible soemhow teaches Christians to not use your brain. This is clearly not the case.
“My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge†(Hos 4:6)
“For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her†(Prov 8:11)
“Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline, and understanding†(Prov 23:23)
4. Science exists despite religion.
Truth: Science exists specifically because of religion. The scientific method comes from studying philosophy and Newtonian physics comes from studying astronomy. Religion caused people to study both philosophy and astronomy.
5. They Don’t Care If There Is Or Isn’t A God. Deep down inside of everyone’s heart there is a missing element that is always questioning, searching and longing to find God. They may try to ignore it but it still remains there.
Wow. There's enough disconnect here to derail a train. I thought this website was satire, but apparently it isn't. If this is the level of logic we get from theists, I might have to put one of those plastic covers on my keyboard to keep the internet drool from shorting out my computer.

Get the platsic covers now; it's spreading!
No seriously, this article made me facepalm irl.
Yeah, the facepalm level is high. I read it with a wtf? and had to double check to make sure it wasn't the Onion or something. The worst part is that these people breed and reproduce.
Anybody count the bold assertions? Here's my favorite: "Religion caused people to study both philosophy and astronomy."
tbh, this doesn't feel like anything new. Every time you see a christian on youtube talking about atheism they say the same thing.
"How can you prove god doesn't exist if you've never meet him?"
Thanks for posting that bullshit. And, no, I didn't do a face palm. I just did a simple eye roll.
QuoteScience exists specifically because of religion.

Are you sure the title isn't a typo of '5 Lies People Tell About Atheists'?

It's strange watching someone who doesn't know what he's talking about speaking with such pompous authority.

:wtff: I had a part missing in my heart so science gave me a vena cava filter that keeps me alive, so I'm not searching anymore. :wall: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: Solitary
Yep. Science and research made the discovering of insulin and how to produce it. Me and every insulin dependent diabetic on the planet owes that to science that we're even alive now.

You've never been to church?
Generally, when Christians say that atheists are lying, what they are really saying is: atheist are telling the truth and we don't like it.
Correct! :biggrin2: Solitary
Like one of those AHA! Lightbulb moments as a Christian when a pastor stands up to "prove" the truth of the religion, and takes every proof directly out of the bible. And then stands there looking all satisfied with himself.
You owe me a new desk stromboli

Hey, the Bible's true because the Bible says so.

Yes I have, and I thought that was strange too.

Last one I was in had no A/C. This was 1959.
I don't think anyone has an open mind, everyone has that one thing they are fundamentally against
I do not think Marxism is a good idea and I am not willing to try it, this in a way makes me closed minded
and i am fairly certain everyone has something like that too
You probably don't understand Marx very well.
I like private property and regard religion as harmless, Marx would disagree with me on both topics
The only marx I ever paid attention to was named Groucho.

If you have an open mind about everything but one thing then you're in pretty good shape.

I've an open mind about people. I acknowledge they are varied ranging from intelligent and well informed, to adam sandler levels of stupid.

I hate to tell you this, but Adam sandler isn't stupid. He is a multimillionaire. Worth 300 million. He can still get movies made even though they are tasteless crapola. I think he is a disgusting worm, but not stupid. I assume you mean "Adam Sandler movies level of stupid."
Who is he, please?

Never seen him in anything.
He started out on SNL, and forever tainted my opinion of him by acting like I acted when I was in the 5th grade. But since going into movies, he's proven to be a lot better actor. Now this is not saying he's great, not even good. He's just better than he was on SNL. Or so it seems to me.

I prefer comedy where I can laugh with someone rather than at them.

In order to debate God's existence participants must agree on what kind of entity is God.

And as there will never be agreement on that, buh-bye!
Entity is a distinct and independent existence. You have to first prove it exists before you can define it.

As the hex-wife once told me, "We have to agree God exists or we can't talk about whether or not he exists." This shortly before I divorced her.
Why religious people always think that atheist deny existence of god but in deep heart they accept god? And to the person who posted it :- Anything that exist, has evidence of its existence. Because if any force or matter somehow affect this physical world, it is fairly impossible to remain anonymous. Most of the arguments Christians has been telling since centuries have been proven wrong. Like Earth is flat, earth is center of the cosmos, world is about 6000 years old etc. So now there is no sense in believing you until you offer evidence or at least strong and logical argument to support your idea. If you think we will believe because you say so, and it is written on bible, having this hope is highly illogical (At least in case of me). By the way, the uncomfortable feeling you are having after knowing views of atheist is known as 'Cognitive dissonance'.

Atheism has become more popular in the last couple of decades then non-theist belief has since the beginning of organised religion started. And I believe the internet has a strong role to play in that. The spread of information, the openness of community, like mindedness and not being pinned downed by whatever is happening in your local area is what has lead to this.
Its like here in my town, they only have a small gay community here and those in that community I never had much to do with, little in common, no interests shared, and was generally hard to make any lasting friendships (the only person who I was friends with died because of an hereditary disease) but I never got anything out of being in my local community.
Online however, I began to meet like minded people, make real friends who despite being across the country and even in other countries, have become my friends who share in the things I enjoy too, so I'm not hampered by my local community anymore.
The same goes for the spread of information to do with atheism, decades ago, a man couldn't walk around in his local town and say he didn't believe in god, he'd be seen as an outcast, especially in church going communities where the church is the center of everything. Its also a case said man would likely be in the same position I was in, having nothing in common with all the bible kissing theists around him, yet now because of the net, theres a reach for people who like mindedness who don't have to be afraid of expressing there truth beliefs.
