In the movies, the hairy prosthetic hobbit feet did seem to be rather large. As a kid, during summers in hot South Florida, we went without shoes a lot. Our summer feet could walk on hot coals, no problem.

Oh yeah... It sounds like summer feet are universal, lol. But always I thought Hobbit feet were small, just bigger for their size. I mean mine is 35,5 -apparently that is 5 in American system- and wouldn't that look big on a hobbit? 

Compared to oliphants we all have tiny feet.

For a Lit. class at Purdue I did a paper on The Things Authors Skip, Scrimp, and Just Leave Out. The prof. was amused.
