Only 50 years ago atheist was nothing more than a follower of the word communist. People didn't even know what it meant. Today we are everywhere! I have great hope for mankind, just reading the posts of some of the younger ones here. Man, I am so impressed with how fuckin brilliant you guys are. Really, I can hardly wait to see what happens the next 50 years, (well other than the obvious fact that I will die)

yeah, sorry to burst your bubble an all, but it would only take one little natural disaster...like an ice age...and we'd be back to square one.
But sure, everything is great for now. Not being nasty honest. I often wonder why civilization has gone back and fore-perhaps it's because of natural disasters.
What's SLOT?!? |
Xena, an ice age is a little natural disaster? Jeepers what would that make that earthquake in China then? A sunny day with a mild wind? But really your point does not have much to do with what I stated about how far we have come. An a or e bomb or two could achieve the same effect.
SLOT is second law of thermodynamics, FLOT is first.
And I don't understand your last statement, the dark ages stopped our technological growth for awhile I suppose, but don't forget that disease wiped out 1/3 of Europe three different time over 300 years. That will put a crimp in yer civilization. _________________ Its not that I question so much whether a god created man, but that he would admit it.- Thomas Brumfield

I just say and do what I think-follow my instincts.
My mum, still alive, doesn't even know what a computer is!!!!....grows her own veggies and works hard etc (even though retired, has arthritis and reaching 70)
We do rely on too much comfort is all I'm saying. |

Well, Ice ages I have considered in depth. And yes, I do think they may have been the cause for our retardation.
I believe the universe has always exsisted. Halts in progress have to arise from something-just like the earth having life.
Find me a person who knows the beginnings of the universe.
It has had to always been there.
Things change, people, animals adapt.
Big bang-don't get it. The universe is endless.
Only an ice age of the whole of earth could've set us back to such a degree.
What do we really know?
Why is mars and the moon without life?
Perhaps they too are going through a climate change.
Do you know? I don't.
To think that we are the most knowledgable people who have ever lived and who are living now is very ignorant. That's a bit harsh but reality. |
