Have you ever had one knock on your door five in the morning just to talk scripture.

No, The Rick Copeland has not. When he has encountered them it tends to be the evening. He saw a few on the street recently and they approached him. The Rick Copeland mentioned he would be happy to speak with them when they showed evidence of a Nephite steel foundry or a Nephite slage heap.They pressed him a little bit and then The Rick Copeland started discussing the "mythic Christ" theory. They finally asked "do you even think Jesus existed?" The Rick Copeland responded that he was unsure. They walked off..
Ok, here's what you do. Last summer The Rick Copeland got a knock at the door that proved to be Mormon missionaries (yes, they DO have missions to Salt Lake). Before they completed their opening spiel The Rick Copeland cut them off and simply and firmly said "please leave. Now." They left.
Missionaries are told by the D&C to leave if asked. You might need to remind them.
Or... You can tell them you'll listen tothem if they first answer your Scientolgy personality inventory, which is supposedly quite lengthy...

He might not but The Rick Copeland does. No, they don't come by regularly. But it does happen... Even when The Rick Copeland lived within a five minute walk to the Temple (you know. The one in the photos. It is a cool building- be it sdcatted with Masonic symbols-- just go about seven blocks east to the Masonic temple,( one of the most elaborate in the western US, they give tours, and it's really something) and the Temple grounds are spotless. Very pretty)...

Which question? The one regarding the Nephites or the one regarding the Scientolgy questioneer? Scientolgy is science you know. It's right there in the name...
You could also ask them about the Book of Abraham (a significant reason many have left the church), the Kinderhook plates... Why mitochondrial DNA disputes the central claim that the American Injun is a descendent of Jews... So many things. Mormonism is so fraught with problems... Even the LDS church seems to realized that. That's why there's the apolgetic group F.A.R.M.S. (Foundation for Ancient Research and Mormon Studies)...

very few mormans in the UK, i have had a few Americans knock on the door who i assumed were mormans
i normally just get JW's knocking at my door around tea time,
how i react to them depends what mood im in, if iv had a bad day, ill give them a load of shit about how there religion is a load of shite
if its a good day ill just ridicule their beliefs in a non aggressive way
if im feeling lazy, i just tell them to go away

I don't mind Mormons... the ones i've encountered have been incredibly polite and honest about what they did not have answers for.

I've never gotten a Mor(m)on...only the JW's, especially when they were building their palacial new digs down past the new high school. Vow of poverty my ass!!! The feudal kings of Europe never built palaces so grand.
