Strange topic, but there we are.
Can't get rid of them but they are getting rid of my finches and other little birdies.
I usually have loads of baby birds around about now.
NOPE, Just starlings.
Sorry for being dim but noise thingys is all I can describe as to what I want. Any help please?

Well, with "noise makers" you have to take your neighbors into consideration.
Try this:
Two stakes 6' apart with a line, akin to a washing line. Tie old CD's to the line in regular intervals.
The wind moving the shiny CD's will scare the birds away. (but not pigeons). _________________ “The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see.” - Ayn Rand

Thanks.
It appears that starlings are only scared of noise though. High pitched noise. They themselves make so much noise that I don't think neighbours would be concerned about the odd screech. I need a noise like a firework but not the *bang* at the end. This is what frightens them and well, I just don't know what it's called.

Cheers...yes...that's what I want. Stuff the neighbourhood. Thank you. The neighbours live in cardboard boxes and think the biggest agenda of the day is someone making noise at 10 pm OR leaving mess in the dustbin area!

I hope you are nowhere near West Berkshire. _________________ “The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see.” - Ayn Rand

I will use it next year. Seriously, the starlings came out of nowhere this year and have terrorised my finches and other birds. They attacked everything in sight and made a hell of a mess whilst doing so. It was like a swarm of locusts only bigger. Other neighbours let off fireworks and stuff. I searched internet and found that hey feel threatened by high pitched noise. The swarm has moved on but they left a large group of babies behind. Can't wait for next year! Will get that gas hooter (thingy ) and scare the hell out of everything.

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti. You fly back to school, now, little Starling. Fly, fly, fly.
