Hello! My name is Gerard. I was recently added as a moderator to this forum. I was trained as a teacher of History and Geography. I've stopped teaching some years ago but History has of course always been one of my passionate interests. I hope everybody has a great time in this forum and that lots of questions are asked and answered and lots of information is exchanged!

Talk about history can sometimes invoke political ans religious sensibilities. Now there's nothing wrong with that as far as I'm concerned, but let's all keep it pleasant and tidy in here. Remember our House Rules while posting. Not just in this forum but in all the other ones as well.

I hope that the traffic to this forum increases in times to come. History is after all an important tool in understanding the world around us including many of the subjects we like to discuss at this site. I hope you all bring some issues here to have a go at!

Happy posting!

Gerard
