Can you check the following Christian theology and logic and make sure it's correct.
1. Men are created in the image of God.
2. Men make smelly farts.
3. Thus, God must make really powerful and smelly farts.
1. God never mentions any prohibitions against farting in the bible.
2. Thus, it's okay to let one rip anytime...anywhere...even loudly...during the Sunday sermon.

I would, if some of the stuff spread on these threads would rub off the little rodents's grey matter. But do you see any sign of this happening? I ain't see no change so far. Hence I can only conclude from that evidence that a complete re-tooling of the twit's education is in order... |

Yes...but then, I've known him via internet forums for a lot longer than you have.
He's actually gone from being Mad_Gerbil…the fundy, aggressive, YEC, atheist hating, bible college graduate, defender of the faith … who only would write the word God as G_d...out of some bizarre belief that including the letter ‘o’ in the written word, would piss off his personal G_d…for some reason.
...to Meh-Gerbil, the confused, somewhat apathetic, cynical, skeptical, sarcastic, fed-up with the judgmental, holier-than-thou, bigoted, hate-filled, apologists…posing as Christians. The ‘Gerbil’, as we call him, has completely abandoned his former Christian webforum, where he had his own dedicated subforum, and can now write the word ‘God’, complete with letter ‘o’, without fear of his God shriveling up his testicles.
So yes…he is making progress…it’s just that when he’s here…in this den of foul mouthed, over confident, egotistical, hygiene-challenged, baby eating, god haters…that he feels compelled to root for the theistic underdog team, and cheer for his buddy Trout, who has none of his insecurities or doubts.

Gerbil and Trout will be the first to admit that I am way smarter than they are...but that I'm still wrong about, and don't know, many things...and even my huge ego would probably be forced to admit that is true, in a moment of weakness...
But I will not deny Trout the ability to use the metaphor 'atheist priesthood', as it a phrase that accurately captures someone who is:
1. An evangelical atheist who is best known for his outspoken atheism.
2. Who preaches to, and is admired by, other atheists, because of his atheism
3. Who makes money off being an atheist via books, articles, speeches, websites, etc.
Now atheist priests aren't required to be celibate, or dress up in funny robes, or swear allegiance to a certain set of beliefs, or molest their atheist altar boys or webmasters...
...but as long as they meet the above criteria...I know what Trout is referring to when he uses the phrase.
Besides...it obviously pisses some atheists off...and he enjoys getting mileage out of that...just like I do, when I use the euphemism: 'foreskin fascinated, Semite tribal deity' to describe the Christian god.

a biologist priesthood? the problem is that numbered list can be altered to fit ANYTHING in there. it becomes meaningless.

Nonetheless, his lack of logic, his lack of trust in his fellow atheists who are devoting time and energy in putting him on the right path, and his lack of judgment that he is trully among people who have liberated themselves from the tyranny of religion... well, all that leaves aghast... |

Trout can spew it all they want to--doesn't necessarily bug this stoopid little heathen.
The issue comes up when they spew it as a mass section categorizer, with which to lump as many atheists underneath as they can and assume all the sheep-like atheists follow the 'priesthood' because they can't think for themselves.
This is only done after stacking more meaning onto the word 'atheist' (like immoral, dangerous, lovers of chaos, etc) and being unable to acknowledge that some folks don't actually have an invisible being to answer to after they're dead in the first place, just the visible ones while they're alive like themselves and their society.
Here's something theists can't seem to grasp and it comes out in silly phrases used like 'atheist priesthood' and/or 'atheist moral code'.
'Foreskin fascinated' is a term I'm stealing, using, and giving zero credit back for. Just a 'heads' up!
