It's always fascinating to me that fascism has taken such a strong hold in Europe. Any good reading on why?

It seems to be taking over America as well. Government in the pocket of Corporations tends to lead there.

It would seem that the relationship is not that simple. More like, Government and Corporations share the same pockets or something.
