Read those comments on that embedded page. I hate Bob Barr, and even I have to defend him on this. Barr had an event scheduled for over a month on his page, and Paul choose to schedule this at the same time. Overall the GOP and the LP are not related.
But the GOP has a history of attacking 3rd parties - except the Green Party which they fund.
They send people in to divide and crush third parties that they view as a threat.
They succeeded with Buchanan and the Reform party.
They failed with Keyes and the Constitution party, but managed to steal the California ballot.
In my opinion Barr is a continuation of this trend. He's not a libertarian and a large portion of the LP is quite dissatisfied with him.
Besides, I agreed that the GOP is guilty of "rhetoric borrowing" even though they don't mean a word of it. _________________ Nos laetus edo qui votum opprimo nobis.
