Go romans120! Beat that notorious apologist for theism Philosophos into the ground. _________________ "Atheists are the driving force behind what I call Big Secularism. I threw up in my mouth a little bit reading your post, Philosophos so...errr, well done, I guess?
*chuckles at your use of Romans 1:20 in a debate against romans120*
Not a bad start Romans. There's a lot more you could've hit him with, but you've got the basics. Interesting tactic going with the microscopic pink unicorn rather than the more common invisible pink unicorn, we'll have to see how that works out. _________________ "The very existence of flame throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.' - George Carlin

Is it just me, or did Philosophos royally own the first section?
Rather scary, but I will give it to Romans that pretending to not beliving in a giant sky deity is harder then pretending TO believe in it. _________________ The best arguement against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter. - Winston Churchill

No I don't think Philosophos did at all. He represented a somewhat lower level of theist and the big misconception of the term atheist (which is clear that his character represented)
I think romans won that little bit. Becase you can still have faith in something and be an atheist you just can't have faith in a god.
I also enjoyed romans' little bit of comedy at the end (atleast I hope it was comedy haha) _________________ "Shake off all the fears of servile prejudices, underwhich weak minds are servilely crouched. This isn't really one of those debates were one side "owns" the other. I view this as an academic exercise Philosophos clearly was much more detailed then I so in that regard that round definitely goes to him. _________________ The Resident Theist

this IS as interesting as i imagined it would be. O_O
if we could only get romans to see how unnecessary his "special revelation" theory is, we'd have a monstrously capable and devastatingly intelligent a-theist in our midsts... _________________ -=The Believer is Happy; the Skeptic is Wise=-

Philosophos,
I really liked the style with which your first point was written. It made me LOL.
Well done, both of ya. _________________ "If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?"

| Actually, I think the burden of proof argument blew philosophos's point out of the water. Also it makes me want to clarify that I am not a 100% atheist, I'm an agnostic who is leaning so close to atheism that I consider myself one in general discussion. |
