Has anyone heard about religion saying the universe is close to death? they use these as science proof.

I went to wikipedia and looked up the fate of the universe and star will stop being made at the age of 100 trillioin years old.

heres the link

if this number is true then the universe is only .0137 percent of its lifetime of stars.

any comments?

Whoever said that the universe is dying NOW is a fucking retard. We are trillions of years away from the degenerative phase of our universe. For more info on this, check out the TV special called "Time" that came on The Science Channel.

EDIT: check this out http://www.time.com/time/covers/1101010625/story.html

Yeah the only part of the show that I doubted a bit on was the guy talking about how in 50 years we would be able to extend human life to hundreds of years. It would be great, but I HIGHLY doubt it.

I think it might be possable, just because of how long we are able to make flys live 7 time longer all we need to do is find out how to do it with humans.

I'm not saying that it's completely impossible; I'm just saying it won't happen in our lifetime. Fly DNA to human DNA is an ENORMOUS jump.

Shouldn't this topic be under General Religion or other? It doesn't sound like physics or cosmology. Sorry for being picky...

What happened to their afterlife? We cannot live forever and ever and ever and ever? And ever and ever?

So the afterlife is outside the universe? Then that means the afterlife is in another universe, and then it would die also?

Don't ask me it a bad arguement, and it's based on bad physics.
