Monty,
To be honest, I just think it's a tad rude. The verbage should either be toned down a bit or the humor turned way up. Perhaps you intended for it to be very sharp? Because that's the way it comes off. The general feeling that I would like to leave people with would not be shock and awe. In other words, I think there are some great ways to convey the same point without making any of your close friends/relatives feel insulted.
Just my 0.02
Fair enough - and keep in mind, that's just how it would start out.
Hopefully it will be a long, long time from now and there will be many revisions
If N00bs such as you Mr. C and others and maybe even Monty haven't read Winace's eulogy, it is a MUST read for all atheists thinking of their own deaths. I believe most theists would also see it as a great tribute to a young man as well as a great approach to death.

I forget where this is, but there is a tribal people who eat their dead out of respect. It is important to understand that these people don't eat the dead because they are hungry...in fact, they let the meat rot a bit so they don't enjoy it.

Interesting how different cultures can be. Just think about the levels of anxiety that our culture experiences when dealing with our dead...I can't even bring myself to attend a funeral, it's just one of my hang ups, but to have to eat the rotting flesh of a person you're grieving over is just beyond the pale. _________________ This space is reserved for inarticulate meat puppets who have no true perspective outside the refuge of quotation marks.

maybe, if you're lucky, the person you're grieving over was a huge drug fiend and you'll be able to get a contact high from swallowing some of his muscle tissue.

Shut up! But you know, I've heard that some people do dip joints and cigarettes in embalming fluid. _________________ This space is reserved for inarticulate meat puppets who have no true perspective outside the refuge of quotation marks.

A friend of mine wants his lungs dried and smoked by his best friends. He claims that whatever's in there will give anyone one of the hardest highs of their life. _________________ Namaste,

Whats interesting is that it is controversial as to whether or not cannibalism happens. In this society, no anthropologist has actually seen the consumption of human flesh. All they have to go by is the word of the elders. _________________ An artist sees beauty in a painting. I see beauty in a logical proof.
