If that's what you think happened then you have not read the account. You're probably not aware that God appeared continuously and spoke audibly to the entire nation of Israel 24/7 for a period of 40 years. And this backs up my idea, that when God speaks to one person it is known as insanity, a hundred or so and its a cult (usually devil worshippers or blasphemers of some kind) but if its the majority.
