Yeah I get that alot, they drop the happy smiley act as soon as they know.
My address has been blacklisted by the local jehova's witnesses, they don't come to my house anymore :p I've seen them visit both of my neighbours and pass mine over. _________________ ------------------------------------------------------ |

That's why I've got more time for the mormons. I've been approached before and they do the usual, do you have this book, are you a christian etc etc and when I have told them I do have the book but i'm an atheist. The look I get is more perplexion than anger. They do what any decent atheist would do and ask 'why is that?' and aren't mean about it. The type today was a bible thumping you're going to hell type preacher. Got no time for that whatsoever _________________ God made me an atheist. Who are you to argue with his will? |

I get quite a few leaflets through the door, christians sometimes asking for money and a few JW's. I'm surrounded by churches-at least 6 of those are practically on m doorstep.c |

Come to think of it today's insane bloke was American or at least sounded that way. All the mormons I've met are American too. However I live in the centre of my town. Within two minutes walk is a huge Jesus Army centre where the alcoholics, drug addicts and jobless people hang out as they get free food there. Northampton has quite a lot of churches though. _________________ God made me an atheist. Who are you to argue with his will? |

So you're into sadism? Well, that's a bit weird. |

You think that's weird? I would have thought your position would be that it's neither weird nor not weird. _________________ "People who harbor strong convictions without evidence belong at the margins of our societies, not in our halls of power." - Sam Harris |

And, it's fairly creepy that you're theorising mine or any other person's position on sadism relative to our unrelated philosophical views. You must be one of those sexually minded folk, what they call...perverts. |

When i own my own house one day and they come to my door, i will just say im not interested. I wont slam the door, i wont beat them up, i wont yell threats...
Simple no thank you is the best solution! _________________

I love living in a mexican neighborhood. To avoid being proselytized, I answer my door in my underwear. When asked if I speak Spanish, I say no. Then they leave. Its funny when they answer the door they're always surprised, and they try not to look down, they really emphasize their eye contact. I tell em, you can look baby, its natural. _________________ "rights" are the modern recontextualizing of "holy"; a romanticized state of being beyond reproach. |

| Strange, I've seen them around my neighborhood maybe once or twice, but I don't recall them ever coming to my door. I almost wish they would so I could at least say I've had the experience. |

In high school I had a classmate whose father would answer the door bare ass naked when they'd come around. _________________ "People who harbor strong convictions without evidence belong at the margins of our societies, not in our halls of power." - Sam Harris |

I think its weird that the first meaning that came to you was sadism.

A person taking pleasure in the despair of others? That's a premier sign of a sadistic personality disorder, nothing weird with being attentive of potential sociopaths and perverts so I know to stay clear. Though obviously, you're interested by those folk (sorry, I'm not one.) |
