What. The. Fuck.
| Quote: | A bed had been pushed up against the door; the officers pushed it open a few inches and saw Marquez choking his bloodied granddaughter, who was crying in pain and gasping, Tranter said.
A bloody, naked 19-year-old woman who police later determined to be Marquez's daughter and the girl's mother was in the room, chanting "something that was religious in nature," Tranter said. |
That's a horrifying image. I know some people on the board grew up in this flavor of Christianity, but I can't for the life of me understand the mindset where this is a good, positive and for that matter an effective thing to do.
On a side note, I kind of chuckled that, AP aside, the link for this story was from Fox News. _________________ "The very existence of flame throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.' - George Carlin

Meh. I don't care if it's unpopular.
As for the rest of your post: Exactly right. I'm glad the guy died after putting a 3-year old through that. Nobody deserves that. |

Sure, joseph, I mean Mr. C, everything popular is bad.
Nah, not that you read it, just that the story was about the horrors of Christian lunacy, which is basically their bread and butter.

Here's why I can't be a cop. I'd be too inclined to use a different gun from the start in a situation like this and leave chance out of it. _________________ "The very existence of flame throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, 'You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.' - George Carlin

The family members are probably saying something to the effect of: "ZOMG!!1! The demon left the girl and killed grandpa!!" _________________ "If we long to believe that the stars rise and set for us, that we are the reason there is a Universe, does science do us a disservice in deflating our conceits?"

These people are insane. A three-year-old? Possessed? How could they tell, was it running around making noise? I don't know, I think that kind of stuff comes from... being three.
And the word "bloodied" appears several times. What else were they doing other than praying and yelling over that child? How did she get bloodied up? That seems to be another set of felonies right there.
It's a nightmare. Sick bastards, doing this to a little child...
I'm glad Marquez dropped dead. Sorry. Better him than the kid.
And the mom was nude? What the hell?
There's going to be a parade of lawsuits over the Taser, just watch...

I think he took the demon into him from the three year old and it stopped his heart.
He is a hero. Praise Jebus! _________________ Join http://www.sefora.org/

There should be a whole sub-forum here dedicated to senseless religious (caused?) tragedies, there are so many. |

Just proves that either Jesus doesn't love little children, or the Holy Spirit doesn't give a damn what happens to the God-worshipers, or there is no God/Jesus/Holy Spirit at all. _________________ Kryten: Don't you believe that God exists in all things? Aren't you a Pantheist?

Exactly, tonyman.
At least when CPS takes this 3-year-old away from this situation, she'll hopefully have a chance at life. There was no hope for her until this happened. Talk about having a messed-up early childhood, though. If they had been a minute too late, that little girl would be dead, thanks to her family's stupid beliefs. _________________ Kryten: Don't you believe that God exists in all things? Aren't you a Pantheist?
