Angry_Beaver (that's me), a member of the Church and State union and forum on GameSpot.com, has been ruffling some theists' feathers in informal debate, both in that union and in another. Read if you'd like, and please comment in whatever way you'd like, constructive or not. 
This one started out as a topic about Richard Dawkins' The God Delusion:

And this one started off as just an explanatory thread about who or what the union members call "God".

I would have to disagree with you on the fact that one cannot believe in God without doubt. I have no doubt whatsoever that God exists, I know He does. However, you can hardly call what I believe "blind belief" because I have put a lot of research into my beliefs. All those atheistic tactics don't work on me because I am not some run of the mill lukewarm Christian. I am a Christian who is also a researcher and a (soon to be) scientist and agree that to truly understand something, much research has to be put into it. As much as students of medicine believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that the heart pumps blood pulmonary and systemically (as I do), I believe that God exists.
Oh Great, this fucktard is going to be a scientist!

Unfortunately, that seems to be the case. I was going to go for a BS in physics, myself, but I'm no experimentalist.
I'm just about to end my part of the discussion on that thread, since it's not leading anywhere. And I think I've argued previously with the person I'm currently having a discussion with. |
