Let's get this thing going again! The one on the archived forum was great fun, full of terrific shots!

Post your shots of nature and natural settings and so on! Plants, flowers, animals, landscapes - you know the drill.

I went to a place called Great Falls in Virginia last weekend and got some photos of some animals kayaking over the falls Wink :

Those shots are great, Buckster!

I took some photos this past weekend and tried to capture some of the Fall colors around town. I don't think the colors this Fall are nearly as spectacular as I have seen in year's past but I did manage to find a few photo ops which I posted to Flickr. Below are some of my favorites from this weekend's adventures.

And last but by no means the least; My little pride and joy - MY LITTLE DOG! Now, make no mistake, he is a fearless 5 lbs. and challenges dogs 10 times his size. However, he does have certain weaknesses which brings him to his knees in utter fear. One of them, apparently, is having a camera pointed at him. So, this photo is him cowering on the floor like a little sissy and when I clicked the camera he crawled forward - low to the ground - resulting in his wee tiny head being cut out of the shot.

Cool beans, Fallingwater! I've been working on some fall colors as well...

I shot this one about the same time as the sunsets from above. It really was very bright orange/red and lit up the trees in a cool way. Most of the deep saturation from this and the sunset shots above is from shooting at -1 EV.

These next two are from a couple weeks ago when I went to Great Falls and shot the kayakers.

I found this great blue heron amongst some fall colors a few weeks ago:

By the way Fallingwater, much as I enjoyed your shots, they're REALLY BIG! Half a megabyte to almost a full megabyte each slowed me WAY down, and is going to kill any dial-uppers that might like to see them.

Do you have any kind of a program there that can reduce the file size and/or dimensions on them? If not, I hear Picasa is pretty good, and it's Google-ishus Free. Cool

I am visiting frequently at Shutterfreaks , and I post my photos there as well.
I see that autumn colours is all the rage at the moment, and rightly so, and I intend to get off my butt, and do some myself as well.

On this site I found some amazing work by a poster, Hugh, who has done an album on autumn colours here .
Feast your eyes on those photos. I was blown away by the quality, the colours, composition. Mind you, he is using the large format Hasselblad camera.
A real eye candy.

I also like Buckster's autumn colours. It has that rich, warm excellent autumn colours that I wish I could do.

But I do not have a car, so I cannot travel to those places, and nothing like those where I live. Oh, well.

Hello, Fallingwater, you can post photos a bit larger than that, say between 600 and 800 pixels will fit on the screen just nicely.
If it is too small, it loses the impact it could make. Just a thought.

Unfortunately I have only taken the Canon 60mm lens so it was just a part of the tree.
No wide angle today. Oh well.

Where is everybody? Hello?
