Ever noticed the memes in in YouTube? Some bullshit comment to a vid that ends something along the lines of "type this piece of crap somewhere else ... or else", that's a meme with a replicator. A meme just needs 2 things, infection (susceptibility for a mind to accept it) & replication (desire, need or some form of drive to repeat it to others). That's it. This of course doesn't come into function or purpose of memes, but they don't need them to survive, it can be utter bullshit, as long as it has at least a replicator.
