There are already laws of this type in several European and central asian countries.

In any case the US can sign this all it wants - it will never survive a test case of the 1st Amendment at the SCOTUS.

Three journalist are sentenced to three years in prison for criticizing the Popes inaction on the molestations and granting asylum to pedophile priests.

Muslim countries are quoted as being the main supporters of that measure. I wouldn't be surprised if they gave public "opinions" about the U.N. if they didn't pass this.

Whatever happened to dictating what you say by your own guides of class and couth? Since when do I need to be told by any government or establishment what is appropriate to say and what isn't. Isn't this more of an issue of being a couth person more than a governmental issue?
