However, you do tend to read your bullet points, which is the cardinal sin (HA!) of power point presentations.

It's a cardinal sin to NOT read your bullet points. To not read the bullet points makes people spend less time listening to the speaker and more time thinking, "Where the hell in this presentation is he?"

I'd imagine he's talking about literally reading the bullet points word for word. You should probably describe the bullet points and explain them in detail. The audience can read the bullet points for themselves.

Right, the presenter should read the bullet points, and then expound upon them.

Hillbilly, as a New Yorker, I can safely say that the cost of living won't allow you to last very long here unless you have a job lined up well in advance. Hell, I grew up here and I'm thinking of moving to another city. And while I'd love to take a train over and crack open a cold one with you on the weekends, I can't recommend NYC, no matter how much I love it here.

Just lookin' out for ya, buddy.

edit: I just finished watching the video and I think you did a fine job! As the only open atheist in most of my college classes, discussions like that almost always ended up becoming pointless arguments where finer details would be lost.

That is exactly what I meant. HBA did a good job though - it was just a minor criticism.

I spend a lot of time at Fortune 500 Companies - so watching PowerPoint slides is somewhat akin to hitting myself over the head with a hammer because it feels so good when I stop.

But in this case HBA made them interesting.

Dude....I've spent a LOT of time in Norman for work over the years. One of my customers has a facility there.

OK = weirdest liquor laws imaginable.

I was finally able to watch it also. It is excellent, HBA as a presentation that is courteous and respectful of other world views yet maintaining your own value as an atheist.

OK, I've GOTTA know what's so weird about a liquor store.

Okay so you can buy beer cold only in grocery stores - and it's 3.2% alcohol (also known as "sex in a canoe" - aka, "fucking close to water"). It just tastes wrong.

You can buy warm beer (normal alcohol percent), wine, and liquor at a liquor store.

As I recall the liquor stores close at like 7 (8?) PM most days - so if you work late you're screwed. When I was there I was staying in hotels for work so I'd typically pick up a 6 pack or something if I was in the mood on a Monday so I could have a beer after work during the week - but I had to take it back to the hotel and ice it down for an hour first.

The ironic part is that Norman has more strip clubs than I've seen anywhere else for it's size. I'm not into that so I never went, but I suspect they also close at like 8.

I lived in North Dakota at one point - if you wanted to go buy a bottle of gin any time before 1:00am it was all your business, 7 days a week. And ND is very conservative. But Norman makes ND look like liberal city.

On a side note I always find the supposed conservative concept of "free enterprise" vs. the conservative concept of "legislate morality" funny.

Laughing

I know whatcha mean. I always thought it was ironic that in Lynchberg Tennessee, where Jack Daniels is made, alcohol is illegal. Shocked
