As stated above I believe all genocides should be studied so they do not occur again.
We need to correct our past and prepare for our future.

That is a wonderful ideal sadly, genocides have occurred before and after the Holocaust and will probably continue.

My view as a gentile:
I think the Holocaust was a special case in that:
Hitler did not invent anti semitism. The Holocaust would not have been possible without over 1000 years of European anti semitism, the direct collusion of the German people and the indirect collusion of the allies.
Allied collusion was through its indifference,to begin with. When the Nazis disenfranchised German Jews via the Nuremberg race laws of the 1930's,no other nation said a thing. After the Holocaust was under way,allied and neutral nations closed their borders to Jews. Millions could have escaped.

That claim that the allied national governments did not know about the camps and the treatment of the Jews is a bald faced lie. The link below gives a list of camps in Germany alone, during WW2.

The indifference of almost the entire world and lack of any effective international protests, including countries such as the US and the UK explains to a degree, current Israeli belligerence. Israel is the only nation on earth which has been literally fighting for its existence for 60 years.
