I think Oxford would have something to say about that. Omnipotence means that you are almighty and infinite in power, that you have the power to change anything. A being can not be both omniscient and omnipotent because if it is omniscient then it knows everything, it know everything that's happened and that's going to happen. Such a being would be aware of the fact it was going to change it's mind and use its power to change something, but if it knew it was going to do it then he didn't change his mind, thus the grand scheme never diverted from its course.
The only way he could change his mind and intervene in people's lives is if he wasn't omniscient, but since omniscience is a stated requirement of God then to intervene in people's lives means he is not God, unless he planned to intervene in people's lives, but then what use is praying? |
