A noted chemist once crossed swords with Sri Yukteswar. The visitor would not admit the existence of God, inasmuch as science has devised no means of detecting Him.
"So you have inexplicably failed to isolate the Supreme Power in your test tubes!" Master's gaze was stern. "I recommend an unheard-of experiment. Examine your thoughts unremittingly for twenty-four hours. Then wonder no longer at God's absence." |

My (or any other hindu's) view is just as valid as his or anybody else's. _________________ "Brahma Satyam Jagan-mithya" (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion)

He was the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda.
Not exactly a bastion of credibility, if you've read Yogananda's autobiography or are familiar with his "The Self Realisation Fellowship Of America"..
My perception of WT's post was he was taking the piss out of sophistry masquerading as profound wisdom. |

[quote="chookrooter"]Who is Paramhansa Yogananda?
All these American hindu gurus, Dayananda of Arya Samaj, the mystic Aurobindo, the duo of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda, the Sai babas, a fellow called Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, cut no ice with me. If a person is surrounded by a multitude then he is not my man, most probably is talking some shit. _________________ "Brahma Satyam Jagan-mithya" (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion)

yeah because apparently the truth will never be cool _________________ "rights" are the modern recontextualizing of "holy"; a romanticized state of being beyond reproach. |
