As everyone knows, the forums have several sections that are not often used, redundant, and a few that are over used (General Conversation doesn't mean EVERY conversation).
We will be doing a bit of "remodeling" in an attempt to meet the following goals for the forums on this site:
- Easier to use
- More inviting to new-comers
- Revive currently unused forums
- Easier to moderate
This will be an ongoing process, so please give us plenty of feedback and suggestions.

The current proposal is to attemt to merge "Enter the Darkness", "Anything Goes", "Spam Board", and "Sex Talk" into "Enter the Darkness" as one forum.

The Anything goes forum got lots of use when it was at the top just underneath the General Convo. Forum. I, and I think many others, liked it there and it only became relatively unused when it was moved to the bottom. So I vote for bringing it back to the top of the page and merge the rest of them as ETD.

its not a BAD idea, i just don't see a reason for it. 'EtD' is the trash can, 'anything goes' is basically an X-rated General section, 'Spam' makes sense for advertising both commercial and personal, and 'Sex Talk' ehh... probably could be done away with.
i guess "Anything Goes' and "Sex Talk' could go away.
just my thoughts.

Another suggestion is to rename Buddhism Forum into Dharmic Relgions so that it covers Buddhism, Hinduism, Jainism, Sikhism, etc.
Then we merge Christianity, Judaism, and Islam into Abrahamic Religions so that it covers Judaism, Christianity, Judaism, Mormonism, Nation of Islam, Baha'i, etc.

minus points for organization, bonus points for efficiency.
i guess that depends on how the Mods feel...

I've proposed this in the IT several times already:
Replace general discussions with "miscelanious discussions", and drop it more to the bottom of the forum index.
Think about it: a large chunk of moderating time goes into doing stuff like moving a movie-review from General discussions to the entertainment and media section. The term general, combined with it being near the top of the index, invites people to conveniently drop their egg there, without looking further for another forum that matches their topic more specificly. I think this can needlessly clog up Gen. Disc. and it makes the overall discussionboard less transparant to surf.
Drop it to the bottom so it'll be less inviting in that regard, and rename it to Miscelanious, so it'll sound more like a last refuge and less like a convenient quick-dump.
