| J_Lazarus wrote: | Okay, so how about shows on the following topics, then:
(1) British Empiricism
(2) The Scottish Enlightenment
^ Different aspects of the life and thought of Hume can be emphasized in the two shows. And Reid, et. al. will be stressed more in Show (2).
(3) Introducing Hindu Philosophy
(4) Introducing Buddhist Philosophy (at an intermediary level, since we already have a couple of shows on Buddhism available in the archive. In fact, we could have a couple of shows on this topic, giving a semi-systematic introduction to the main traditions, arguments, and thoughts of Buddhism and its greatest thinkers).
(5) Analytic Philosophy - The Vienna Circle and Its Predecessors (per NeuralLick's request).
(6) Greek Philosophy - From the Ionians through Aristotle (perhaps two shows should be made out of this, that's a lot of material to cover!)
(7) Introducing Daoist Philosophy
(8.) 19th Century Philosophy & Science - basically, on the lives of the existentialists and their thoughts, as well as the science going on at the time, and what the results of this were.
(9) A Defense of Catholicism - Linda Zagzebski (per Greg's request). |
Also, an Augustine/Aquinas episode may not be a bad addition... as would neoplatonism, since it had a moderate effect on some of the Church Fathers' thinking (e.g Origen). _________________ The whores and politicians will shout 'save us'...

I'm getting an "n" or a sideways "z" and it's connected with red, or commies, or rednecks, and something smells, it's connected with cows, or bulls, and I am seeing what looks like a shovel....... |

| How about interviewing several "moderate" muslims to see what a moderate actually believes? |
