From the link:
| Quote: | | In fact, many have reported that they were able to see Shirdi Sai Baba as well as Sathya Sai Baba. |
Would the latter be this guy?
A conjurer who "materialises" stuff like ashes and watches. That's what he's known for in the west. And now he's mooning all of us! Does he actually have a great following in India?

I see what your getting at man. My parents are both hindu. I visited India a while ago, on a religious expedition opposed on me by my parents in hopes of shaking my disbelief, but it only got stronger.
From what I understand there is very low tolerance for atheism, especially in schools, I have a buddy there that is in an international board school, and they are still imposed to do a morning hindu prayer. Mind you this is a school that is "supposed" to be diverse in religions. If I was in your position, I wouldnt say the prayer void the consequences, voice out man. Trust me I know what its like
About the Sai Baba thing though, the moon thing is complete garbage. My mother is a Sai Baba fanatic and goes preaching his name every single morning just because that egotistical prick announced himself as a "god" and supposedly pulled off miracles, said by the eye witnesses, probably the same kind of people who saw his face in the moon. A real miracle would be what Gandhi did, if anything, he should be the self proclaimed god because he did so much more for Indians than what Sai Baba can ever do which is where Baba promised hope for a better tomorrow, Gandhi actually delivered it. _________________ "Heaven is an American salary, a Chinese cook, an English house, and a Japanese wife. | helloween_metal wrote: | hindu god sai baba .. fuckin hindu stupid rituals | There are stupid people everywhere, in the west, as well as in the east. Both 'Sai Babas' are considered to have performed miracles. Majority of hindus would not consider these 'Babas' to be Gods. They sure are respected as god-men. The one in the afro-style hair has established schools and hospitals. Nothing much is known about the other one's origin. He dressed like a muslim faqir and stayed in mosque. The afro-style one is reported to have homosexual tendencies, and there was a murder in his ashram.
Hindu prayers are beautiful and many of them are secular, do not even mention any God. One such says:
"Sarve santu sukhinah, sarve santu niramayah;
Sarve bhadrani pashyantu, ma kaschid duhkha bhagbhavet."
(May everyone be happy, may everyone be free of worries;
May everyone see happiness, may none be unhappy)
Don't let unfamiliarity degenerate into a racist outburst. Regards. _________________ "Brahma Satyam Jagan-mithya" (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion)

Wow, this is a first! | No rituals are compulsory for hindus except those pertaining to their ancestors as a mark of respect to them. Even these can be modified according to the choice of the person. Punjabi can be written very well in Hindi script known as Devanagari. People of Pakistan have Urdu script (derived from Persian), though the language is hardly any different from Hindi. This is hindi:

The followers of Sai Baba (Shirdi) are seeing him in all kinds of things, trees, depilated buildings, goats, ass*s, rocks. Superstitious nonsense. _________________ "Brahma Satyam Jagan-mithya" (Brahman is the truth, the observed is an illusion)
