| yes it is the christian way of saying good day but maybe its offensive to some people. they are blessing those who don't want to be blessed. I'm all for them saying it to other christians just not to me. |

One is if you are sick or are afflicted by some other misfortune, and they offer their good intentions.
The other is when you are debating with them or are in some form of disagreement and they say this with the direct intention of annoying you. |

As for Christians who know im an atheist telling me that, I just generally brush it off with a, "For all the good in the world praying to gravity will do me...", a play on a Sagan line about god being the laws of nature.
For Christians who dont know im an atheist, I just shake my head, its what ever. I find it offensive, but im sure find alot of what I say offensive and dont start anything, so...
