| Quote: | Olympics: 'China not a priority', say al-Qaeda forums
Dubai, 4 August (AKI) - Jihadist websites close to al-Qaeda have said that China is not the enemy at the moment.
"Let China be. We now have other priorities that are not China," said a message posted posted by 'Kasir al-Asnam' meaning 'destroyer of idols' in Arabic.
These and other comments came in response to the attack on Monday in the northwestern Chinese region of Xinjiang, which killed 16 policemen.
The attack came four days ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2008 Olympic Games due to begin in the Chinese capital, Beijing later this week.
"At this moment, China is not a country at war with us. If there are attacks against Muslims, these hit the dispossessed that must leave those lands and move to Islamic countries."
"Bothersome actions like these are not foreseen by (Islamic) Sharia law or good sense."
"What interest do we have in turning China against Muslims at the moment?" al-Asnam asked.
None of the messages posted to jihadist websites contained any open support for the attacks in Xinjiang. However, some pointed out that al-Qaeda leaders Osama bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri have never mentioned China in their speeches.
"At this moment, holy warriors (mujahadeen) do not need to open a new front with China," said al-Asif al-Harashi in a comment discussing Monday's attack in Xinjiang.
"We must be very careful and have patience. We do not need to rush and shout 'God is great!' or justify this type of action. For all I know, I have never heard any of the al-Qaeda leaders threaten China."
Users of al-Qaeda linked websites largely ignored a three-minute video posted to one such website containing threats against the Beijing Olympics by the Turkistan Islamic Party (TIP) terror group.
The video was reportedly not added to the statements posted by 'official' jihadist groups such as the Islamic State of Iraq, or Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
The TIP said it was responsible for bus blasts in Shanghai and Yunnan province's capaital, Kunming, on 21 July - claims dismissed by local police. |
Here is a lesson to be learned from the Chinese.
This shows that holding a firm course (without stupid Western niceness) and cracking down on Muslim terrorists, makes them respect you. Makes them say they are not at war with you. Makes them even talk about leaving.

Nope, Islam, and Muslims only respect a force and brutality greater than theirs.
Mohammad, when he was weak, preached tolerance. When he was in power, there was no stopping him.
That is why the Meccan and Medinan verses in the Quran. 2:256 abrogated by 9:5, 9:29 for example.
The Chinese are still infidels, the enemies of Allah. If they treated the Muslims like the Europeans, they would be dealt with the same contempt. _________________ “The hardest thing to explain is the glaringly evident which everybody had decided not to see.” - Ayn Rand
