"Loose cannon" came from the Tall ship days. When a 5,000 pound cannon is not tied down it can run amok, and is damn near impossible to get control of on the open seas.

My two cents.
Because of ONE motherfucker the mods are having to re-write the rules. Any way you slice it,that's reason for all of this.I've been to a lot of forums over the years,and when the moderating team has to re-write the rules because ONE fucker,they usually show no sympathy to him.
There would have been no need for ANY of this had Dawk just left and found another forum.He has gotten away with murder,and has been asked to leave many times.But as I have said before he won't because no other forum allows him more freedom.
I'm just sick of this pity party for Dawk,When everyone wanted him gone.Now he is and everyone's bitching.A couple of weeks ago everyone wanted him gone(including myself),we didn't care how,we just wanted him gone.So what's with the change of heart?
Cheap did us all a huge favor and yet people are making him out to be the bad guy.But watch in a couple of days everyone will want Dawk banned again,and only then will it begin to sink in that this was stupid.
Moral of the story.Careful what you wish for.Because you might just fucking get it. |

Dawkadoodle's popularity aside, nobody wants a forum moderated by a bunch of rogues who can ban any given member (or re-thread all of their posts) or generally discriminate against any member when the rules simply have not been broken by that individual. That's what this is about. Dawkadoodle aside, a rewrite/revision/whatever you want to call it of the rules has been a long time coming. Think back to the "ban this troll or that" polls and the invention of "The Love Shack". Everything that led up to those things, and everything that has happened since are all pieces of the puzzle. The ill-advised banning of one of our members is almost a side issue, because the admins and mods have been discussing rule revisions for a long time, and we have all been seriously discussing them ever since the new mods (including myself) were put into place recently. With that being said, any input is more than welcome.
