I'm sure I'm going to miss them.
The first guy. Benami or whatever. He beat around the bush basically. Ofcoarse extremism exists outside of religion. Religion however supports and demands lots of intolerance and hate.
2nd lady. God=love??? ok believe whatever abstract you want. You just left basically religion and all the religions which were the topic. God isn't some abstract thing. He's supposed to be existent entity that does stuff.
3rd idiot guy. They pretty much show how he's an idiot. 2+2=4 that's a fact. You can't argue with that. Evolution is a fact and you can't argue with it. You are still free to be an idiot and believe whatever you want.
muslim guy. another idiot. he's basically arguing that Jesus=good because of the stuff he did. Then ignore the fact that jesus himself condoned and wished intollerance and such and that this is where these extremists are getting their views.
Bah I can't factcheck the rest of the crap. It's pretty funny though how they basically showed how the christian college idiot is a hypocrite and making bullshit claims of out of context and such against anything others might use against the bible. Then when he does it it's all good because "he knows better" then anyone else. Thusly meaning that no matter the opposition's education they don't know the bible as well as he does. Which is obviously stupid.
as I'm actually typing this as I'm watching I got to the first guy again benami or whtaever. He basically makes the claim that there hasn't been as many extremists for christianity like flying planes into buildings. Which is funny as it reminds me of this cartoon.

It sounds like she's making an argument that god is not a literal thing, but a metaphorical idea. I would have gone along with that if her version of god was biblically supported. Unfortunately, it's contrary to the biblical god. God is not just love, he's also hate, jealousy, fear, wrath, etc. Her view is WAY too simplistic and Pollyanna. _________________ Namaste,

I just don't get the god is love argument. And the person saying it had a doctorate in theology I believe! The power of religious mind rot as biologist and blogger PZ Myers often writes.
I watched the program, as always the host et al. were calling Dawkins a fundamentalist.
Calling a system of belief based on physical evidence and rational argument a fundamentalist viewpoint to me is a such an example of gulf understanding the issues between the moderates theists and atheists. _________________ MY YouTube Videos

This is something I've actually stumbled into before. It's actually a problem with the english language which is causing the problem here.
Fundamentalism is basically the strict adherence to any set of basic ideas or principles. Sooo. If you hold that Energy cannot be created or destroyed... that 2+2=4 always... or that it's completely impossible to go faster than the speed of light.
This is strict adherance to this set of basic ideas. So basically every scientist is a fundy. I feel almost exactly like Dawkins, and how he can keep moderately calm in the face of these weakminded people is beyond me. Its necessary i guess, to broaden the appeal of science and scientific thinking (should be modus operande of the Human species, dont you guys and gals agree?), but i keep getting a foul taste in my mouth everytime logic and reason is battered like this by overwhelming idiocy :/. _________________ My DA account

you know what. back in the 1960s or whatever when the anti-war hippies were protesting the soldiers. They spoke out and beat the hippies down for the idiocy of their crap. This has been going on now for over 40 years. The soldiers just don't care anymore. Let them fight against the army. Get the army disbanded or lowered to such a low quality that they get invaded and loose their rights to protest war.
PErsonally I like South Park's song. where one side likes country music and are hippies and the other likes rock and roll music and are pro-war. Or maybe it was the other way around. BAsically it was the ability to say one thing and do another. It is a fairly good idea.
The same thing is happening with atheists to the moderate christians. We are starting to act like they are our allies against the insane fundies.
