oh, i thought it was funny, too.. its just not exactly a precedent that i would like set.
intentionally misquoting someone is bad enough, but editing someone posts to say something they didn't say? thats a complete breakdown of forum integrity.
isn;t that right, Ryan?

Besides, I'm as gay as I can be for romans120 but he won't let me touch his naughty bits. The only one that will is RyanDzundza.

Just b/c someone is in the enemy camp does not mean they are bad people nor that they will always remain enemies. I was in the enemy camp at one time myself. Unfortunately our country has been undergoing a slow, prolonged period of social reaction since at least the 1980s, so many of our friends, neighbors, co-workers and family are in that camp too.
Yes, the goal is to eventually win them over, but until they are won over, it must be recognized which side they are on, and dealt with accordingly-- they are cannon-fodder foot soldiers for generals like Karl Rove and Pat Robertson. If this were an actual atheist organization and not just a discussion forum I'd be 100 percent against allowing a religious reactionary into a leadership position, or even allowing them as a member.
But it is just a discussion forum, and now that the "shock" has worn off, congrats romans, I guess. |
I have to say, this scares me more than a Muslim ikikikikikikiiikiki yejaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *boom*
we are taking in our own backyard! enemy? am I your enemy for believing in God? wow........
If anything this issue with the mods should give you a good feeling, Romans has not won any medals, nor have you lost any medals, we are the same kind..
wait! let me check... *checks himself* yep, got 2 legs, 2 arms a .... and a head, and we look similar...
we are not an enemy, nor are you mine, this frame of mind is prehistoric, and i apologize in advance if this insults you, I am sure it wont but just in case
that is the beauty of USA, free speech and all the hurraa hurra we can be together even thought SOME of our ideals are different
get another size underwear (larger) loosen up and relax.... |
Please find where I said belief in God makes one an enemy.
As I recall I said social/political reactionaries are the enemy (of which the Christian Right is a subset), which shouldn't be too surprising coming from a socialist. Sorry my lack of Kum-By-Yah spirit upsets you, but I happen to believe social reactionaries and would-be theocrats and tyrants, along with their supporters, should be fought not tolerated.
I'll leave that Liberal love thy enemies stuff to other people, perhaps it'll come as some comfort to them while they rot in the jails cells of the authoritarian, theocratic state the Christian Right would like to construct.I'm sure it's comforting to the millions of Iraqis and Palestinians who have had their lives completely wrecked at the hands of the religious right (of the US and their countries). |

I completely agree. Especially on the enemy-of-the-state part. It's completely us against them. Isn't that right, Godless Red Scum?
Moloth, how do you know it was Romans, btw? |
Well gee, Mr. C, I guess it depends on whether you hold the people accountable who supported this administration and continue to support this administration in stifling poltical dissent, spying on its own people, expanding the power of the police state, and launching a war of aggression that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and wrecked the lives of many more beyond repair. These may just be academic issues to you, but they are not to me. And you damn skippy I hold people like romans accountable for the actions of the political and religious leaders they support, because without a mass base those people wouldn't be in power in the first place. |
