I have heard that they knew each other and Lewis was ...I don't want to say competing, but they were sort of in eachother's light so to speak.

I'm looking forward to the rest of Lewis's story. I know LOTR inside out.


They considered each other to be friends, peers, and inspirations. Although Tolkien was quite mystified when Lewis dedicated The Screwtape Letters to him.
