There is a difference between a keystroke error and misspelling a word. Its best you learn these elementary truths before commenting further. |
The umbrella term "misspelling," covers everything from a keystroke error to fumbling up homonyms, forgetting diacritics and the common "Did you mean cat instead of kat?" You did not spell the word and its intended usage, correctly, thus the word was not correctly spelled in any manner. You in fact insulted another user based on a simple keystroke error as well. The "D" and "S" are so close together mistakes are bound to happen, aren't they Chaodlord? |

Go for it. More than anything else, I think it's important you enjoy your course at university, so if you have a real interest in physics that's great. Career-wise, you'll know nearer the end of the course if it's what you want to keep pursuing, and you can go for the PhD after if you like. If you want to stay in the academic track of physics then it's got the upside of being a very interesting job, generally has some good perks, but if you're looking to make a lot of money it isn't so fantastic.
Depending on which bit you end up in if you do pursue it may affect what job prospects there are, but it's fairly competitive and funding in some areas might be subject to change of course! More commercially applicable bits of physics are naturally going to be better funded. You'll get a much better feel for the market as you get closer to the end of your courses and so on though, and there's really no rush to make big decisions right now.
However, if you do change your mind during the course and end up doing something else, then as Philosophos says you'll have great skills for a whole line of different kinds of work - you can easily end up in a whole bunch of finance-related fields, computer-related ones... there's a huge list. If you do ok in the course then you're unlikely to be asking if we want fries, put it that way. |
