Disclaimer: Although not technically a Luddite, I can be a tad resistant to new gadgets, waiting until I think they have it right, and it's cheap enough; EG I got my first cell phone in 2007.It makes and accepts calls and texts, and that's it. I pay as I go; it costs me $30 for 6 months,as that's when the largely unused card expires. I bought it for emergencies..I find the text function tedious,so don't use it.
I mention the above to keep the following in perspective :
This month the new Iphone was released here, with an enthusiastic acceptance amounting to hysteria. The first month's accounts are due about now, and pundits are predicting many tears. Many of the plans have very low caps, say 200MB. Once the cap is reached the cost at max download speed, can be $1 A SECOND!
A recent survey of 23 developed countries' internet services put Australia last.
Be interested in the cost of using an Iphone in your country to its full capacity in terms of functions. Say 3- 5 GB a month.

EG My PC internet plan is $50 a month, ADSL. I get 20GB download allowance before it slows to dial up speed. The max claimed band width is 1500k/sec. High speed ADSL (8000/k) is not available in my area |

Still debating on whether or not to buy one today. Both Apple stores in Las Vegas currently report having all 3 models in stock.
I was looking at the Nokia 95 8GB until I realized the 96 is about to come out AND the US version of the 95 will not support N-Gage.
Now I am looking up the Blackberry Bold 9000 and the rumored Blackberry Thunder/Storm.
Still, the Iphone would play the items I have on Itunes, and Youtube videos... Also can stored more data and surf faster than my old phone. _________________ Kimberly (HSBUH) aka
