Nowadays, the AF is just as dangerous as the other branches. Airmen, no longer serving as 1st Class Deskmen, are on the ground as escorts right beside infantry (Army & Marines) in Iraq and Afghanistan. The same goes for Navy sailors. Retention is down across the boards.

Obama raises $52 million verses $22 million for McCain in June. Average donation about decreases to $68 per person. Meaning more people are donating than ever before in June.

Still I was and am worried that the Obama momentum in his base was fading a bit as he rushed towards the political center.

I think that his "movement to the center" has been somewhat exaggerated in the media. He's always been a religious guy and the FISA bill has a lot of Democrats voting for it, whether I agree with it or not. Oh well, hopefully it will garner more support from independents.

They're at it again.

Hmm, the suspicion is that Hillary is still going to try to sabatoage the Obama campaign.

"Gosh I'm so tired of divisive exchange and I've got one or two things to say about change like the change we must change to the change we hold dear I really like change have I made myself clear."

Commentators are saying it is impossible to make fun of Oabam. Jibjab proved that they are wrong.

Compared to the 18 months of campaigning, it's dramatic departure in theme and positions in many cases. Nothing unheard of, but it makes Obama look like another person willing to say much of anything to get people's vote. And that goes against is core appeal as a person that is going to bring a different style to Washington. He's looking more and more like Bill Clinton.

But don't get me wrong, on policy, he still miles from where McCain has moved to. And maybe it's just me, but as a social liberal, he's lost his uniqueness. And it has the feel of just another general election fight. And that's sad to me.

What cases would you say are the most dramatic departures?

A handgun court ruling - Don't care but because hand gun bans haven't been shown to work in inner cities as far as I've read.
The death penalty for rape - I wouldn't expect come conservatives to support this; death penal is revenge killing, pure and simple
U.S. wiretaps - Immunity for telecoms is a very bad idea
Israel (and Iran) - Don't care
Trade - Don't care/NAFTA is a boogie man for blue collar folks
Late term abortion limitations - Questionable pandering to religious right
Faith based initiatives and even an expansion - I hate this wholeheartedly and again more religious right pandering

Slate has more details for some of these issues:

Obama is a joke.

He lectures us "you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish" -- Obama speaks no Spanish.

He admonishes us on how "embarrassing" it is that Europeans are multilingual but "we go over to Europe,
and all we can say is, 'merci beaucoup.'" Obama speaks no French.

He lectures us that We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK. That's not leadership. That's not going to happen. (As for me I frequently drop the thermostat below 70 degrees since I heard that one.)

He has come out for a government surveillance bill he once opposed. (Yes Obama wants to spy on you.)

He reversed his stance on accepting public financing. (See you can't trust his word.)

He was wrong about the SURGE! (I guess you can't trust his judgement. )

and what about this quote: "Over the last 15 months, we have traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. " (It's a wild guess but was obama snorting cocaine again when he said that one. ) .

He was a black liberation church member for 20 years.

Obama has no significant achievements in his lifetime.

Hillary was alot more qualifed and so is McCain to lead this country.

Obama has never been a leader but a follower.

He just looks good in a suit.

he is the Manchurian Candidate.

just so you know... neither Jesus Christ nor Superman is running this year. once again we're stuck with mere mortal human beings... shucks.

you have to be educated to say that being educated is a good thing?

Being a US Senator is a non-achievement?

the ability to change ones mind due to new information is now a BAD thing? politicians are SUPPOSED to be infinitely close-minded and never change their stance?

we know for a FACT that W has done/currently does coke... we have no such info about Obama...

i'm kinda surprised you didn't throw the ol' "ZOMG HE BE A MOOSLIM!1!1!" up there...

look at Europe, The fact that the masses are attracted to him gives him a messiah like aura and That just freaks me out. People see a charismatic figure and drink the kool aid. But who is Obama? What has he done? He is full of himself and is stylish. Anyone see the move Idiocracy?

The ability to change one's mind is a good thing but I think all that cocaine has made Obama stupid. (Can you say Presiden Bush Obama (ha ha))

Being a US Senator is a non-achievement when you accomplish nothing and often are not present to vote.

He gives an excellent speech when using a teleprompter but yet will not take up Old man Mcain's challenge to a series of Town hall debates. Of course maybe Obama would agree to the town halls if he could take his teleprompters everywhere. Some polls have McCain and Obama tied, if Obama were truly smart he would take up the challege and easily handle McCain. Obama is not smart. His game plan is to run out the clock and convince people to drink the kool aid long enough to get him elected.

He thinks there are 57 states. That one makes Bush look like a Genius.

and then he sits in Rev Wright's church for 20 years listening to hate and never thought to tell him that anti-white hatred doesn't have a place in the church until this year. This is hard to forgive. Who exactly is Obama? What does he believe?

He allows his kids to be interviewed and then says he regrets it. He's like a woman that can't make up his mind.

He's against FISA and then decides to vote for it. (Can you say Presiden Bush Obama (ha ha))

He was wrong about the surge. That's ok Bush was wrong before to. (Can you say Presiden Bush Obama (ha ha))

If he is president will he be credible enought execute a surge campaign, for example in afghanistan or would he run and damn the world and the consequences. Could he ever make the decision to use force believing as he must, considering he spent 20 years in the pews of a pastor blaming all the worlds problems on the United States.

Many people believe he is wrong about taxes and his approach to health care will fail. Some say he is a socialist. Obama would disagree because he honestly does'nt know him self.

He is the least qualified person ever to be nominated for the presidency.

Hillary got ripped off. His record of service does not even compare.

I guess looking stylish counts for something. Am I the only one to see an empty suit not qualified to be the president.

1) Obama has the EXACT same amount of experience that Licoln had when he ran for President.

2) The Surge isn't the reason that violence is down. Most violence in Bagdad use to be Sunnis kicking Shiites out of their neighborhoods and vice-versa. That violence played itself out, for now their are no Sunnis in Shiite neighborhoods and vice-versa, so they have noone to force out.

3) Lots of smart people have had short periods of crack usage (I'll post examples tommorow). As long as Obama quit before any serious issues arose it should have no impact on his judgment.

4) Atleast he only mistook the number of states, and not had false memories of sniper fire (Hillary) or thinks that a country that hasn't existed for decades still exists (McCain).

Word! Obama gives me much more confidence that he can run the county better than McCain.

Obama isnt going to win

You are going to ask the moderate people who voted for W in 04 to now vote for a black man?

I am sorry but Obama has no shot, most polls I see like the AOL poll that shows McCain with a 69-31 advantage over Obama tells me Obama has no shot

I have a feeling this is going to be one of the biggest landslides in election history, I wouldnt be surpirsed if McCain takes something like 48 out of 50 states

Of course if Obama was a tall charasmitic white guy with the same policies and same thing he stands for, he would probably destroy McCain

But I really believe most Americans are racist and there is no way in hell they are going to vote for Obama
