I love Heinlein, and have always wanted "Gay Deceiver"

Starship Troopers is one of my favourite movies in rent years.Perhaps because I like Paul Verhoeven, and love that the story is an anti fascist allegory. (I picked that up from Radchek's class room rant)

Two was disappointing, a not-very-good remake of "Lost Patrol".

Looking forward to seeing Part Three, should be out here soon..

Tangent: If you like Paul Verhoeven,I recomnend his "Black Book". A WW 2 melodrama set in Holland,it's the most expensive and most popular movie ever made in Holland.

It also stars the toothsome Clarice Van Houten.

So, you make your very own MST moments? Very Happy I love watching bad movies, but I never realized there were sequels to Starship Troopers.

I guess nobody looks at the $5.00 DVD rack at Walmart...

1st one was awesome.
2nd one was soooo bad that previews came back with literally 100% hate. They never left the one place the entire movie... half the movie wasnt even interesting... it didnt make sense.

I'm currently watching the 3rd and I dont think it lives up to the 1st movie but it isnt bad.

Ya know in the beginning where they have those songs with the air marshall about "doing what is right", etc? I love that part. Its so reminiscent of evangelical worship music! Even some of the body language.

I have to admit though, sometimes I can't tell if I'm enjoying a movie because its so bad and I like bad movies or if I'm enjoying it because its actually good. So many times its a mix of both.

Instead of engaging in intellectual sado-machoism by watching the hunk of crap known as "Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation", may I suggest this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_9moZ0ZzhY

Despite the targetted audience, it holds truer to the books themes than the movie and interestingly enough, its also much darker than the movie with its themes militancy, propaganda, racism, genocide, effects of war etc.

For heinlein fans, much I suggest
-Time Enough for Love
-Starship Troopers
-The Puppet Masters (Ps. Simply beyound any Sci Fi today. Its amazing)
-The Moon is a HArsh Mistress

Good link, already have all the roughnecks on DVD off bittorent though. And every Heinlein book as well in my collection. I still say a movie based on Time Enough For Love would be epic....
