I'm jealous.
I put my peppers outside because I just couldn't cope with all the mess on the windowsill and fruitflies-or compost flies and during the night it was extremely windy and rainy. They all died of windburn Embarassed
The stems are still green so maybe there is hope but the buds and leaves-disaster.

That is very nice, Alexia. You must have nice weather there.

My cucumbers and peppers, chillies are still tiny, but will be a good crop later. (I hope). Smile

The weather has been incredibly mild here since late March, and I got a bit of a head start with them since I didn't start from seeds. I will do seeds next year since I couldn't find any greens or other things I wanted to grow.

I'll also build some raised beds at some point.

I'm jealous of your carrots! They look wonderful.

Do you use anything to keep bugs away? My eggplant seems to have a mite problem A friend suggested "Neem oil" since it's an organic pest repellant.

I have sown the carrot seeds in February, and no sign of them for 3 months, then they started to grow.

I am plagued with black bean aphids. The ants are farming them. Shocked
The advice is just to wash them away with water spray.
Doesn't work.

Quote:
Colonies can usually be found on the undersides of leaves as well as on soft new shoot tips or buds. Black bean aphids cluster together and are noticeable because of their dark colouring. As they feed, they secrete a sticky, honeydew substance which drips onto lower foliage and often becomes covered in a sticky black mould.

I'm going to order the neem oil and see how well that works.
I will let you know how it goes. It's also good for keeping gnats away from indoor plants.
All my indoor plants had to be put outside after an infestation, and my palms are dying in the sun.

I have an automatic watering system which works on a timer, drippers and tiny sprinklers for the pots:
10 minutes watering a day is plenty.

Would you believe botanically, the only vegetable is the carrot? The other two are fruit but can also be classified as veggies because of common belief. I just learned that about the beans a couple of months ago. I knew it about vine plants in general but by the time I got to zucchini I considered it a vegetable. Yet it isn't.

It's always fun seeing you post pix of any kind but I really enjoy your garden vicariously. Keep them coming.

I'm also growing a few things in the back of my garden, runner beans, peas, cabages, beetroot, carrots, parsnips, potatoes, tomatoes, etc. We've had more than a fair share of runner beans, I've already picked the first crop of peas and they were delicious, I've already dug up the potatoes, and the tomatoes are started to ripen right now, so all in all it's going quite well.
