it means you're a pretentious straight edger who is just as bad as any christian who forces their morals down another's ass mouth.

edit: Also I laughed at your point #10, sounds like it came right out of an anti-smoking/mothers against drunk driving ad.

1. I am totally and completely obsessed with the TV show Lost.

2. I refuse to get married, not because I don't want to, but because I don't have the guts to explain to my family why I wouldn't be having a Catholic ceremony.

3. I really want to get married.

4. I always have the sneaking suspicion that no one really like me.

5. I'm totally jealous of people that can fluently speak more than one language.

6. I don't do drugs, not because I don't want to, but because I fear it will over complicate my life.

7. I work at a crappy 24-hour Greek owned restaurant.

8. My favorite pastime is arguing politics with the old men who are regulars at work.

9. My favorite place in the whole world is The Living Coast at Brookfield Zoo.

10. On average, I spend more money on going to movies than I do on toiletries in a month.

I worry about the mindset of someone who home schools. Normally it's because they have opinions that they know the kid will not share if they are exposed to the outside world. Your opinions on drugs and vegetarianism is probably what you'll end up forcing on your kid. I sincerely hope I'm wrong but either way I think home schooling is awful and stunts mental and social development of children because regardless of what you say, you're not good enough to teach your kid, teachers train for years to be able to and the social interaction in school is invaluable. There's my opinion anyway.

Don't mind him Holli, something you need to understand about our dear friend Moloth is that whenever a Real Human Female rears her head for the first time around these parts he tends to transform into a dachshund and attach himself to your leg. Just spray him with some vinegar or something and he'll come to his senses Wink

Mr. Fraggle, despite your first attempts, you may be one of the few out here who are actually paying attention.

Time is important. Intros require age, experience matters.

Too bad 99% of the conversation on this forum is blabber for and against ancient text.

Then go ahead and eat one. They're good.

Interesting first comment, shows depth and critical thinking.

I've chosen to not get my protein from concentration camps.

This is my 3rd response to this quote, but I just want to say it. This is exactly what I hate about vegans/vegetarians. They are so condescending. They act like they have it right and no one else can convince them otherwise, just like a lot of theists. I don't see why other animals can eat animals and eggs, but we can't.

I would hunt, and be very, very good at it. As you would be.

Funny, that's a lot of what drives me to do accomplish important things. It also drive me to love friends and family with my whole being, and not holding grudges. Life is too damn short to do otherwise.

As an atheist, I had no qualms with the fact that my ceremony maintained a somewhat religious undercurrent, however it was important to me that the ceremony and reception were not held in a religious institution, so we chose a neutral locale. It fit the aesthetic bill and was well equipped to please all sides.

Since religion played such a major role in both our family's lives, at the time we thought it was the right thing to do, because it was very apparent that they felt as though this ritualistic banquet should be held with the upmost respect and regard...religiously. Seeing the emotions on family members faces was worth a temporary compromise on my idealistic principles to benefit a situation where everyone was coming together to celebrate life. In a nut shell, it was all for our moms and the family members who had dedicated their entire lives just to witness a few sentimental moments. For me, I felt as though it was the right thing to do for those who, maybe not in the same context, would make that kind of sacrifice for me. Humanity and love should prevail before any type of religious discordance. It felt like normal anyway, since we had both grown up in almost identical Christianity injected upbringings.

My grandfather on my dad's side, who has been a Baptist minister for almost 50 years and whose intense Christian dedication brought his entire family to Africa for over 15 years to do missionary work (translated: triple OG, old school religious, rancher fundy), officiated my wedding ceremony per my request. Upon receiving his formatted ceremonial outline and correlating scriptures in the mail (something about me submitting and essentially summating my insignificant role as a woman), laughter was the instantaneous vibe, followed by a duel, swift: hellz nah! Despite my grandfather's strict religious criteria and premandated vows he was accustomed to, he was somewhat reluctant, but surprisingly cool with my husband and I writing our own vows and choosing a few scriptures that best reflected our goals with respect to our lives together. And even though he expressed displeasure to my father about there being alcohol at the reception, he never said a word to me about it, which I found to be respectable.

In short, if you've found the person you feel meets all your criteria for a lifetime relationship, the sex is good and you are both passionately in love with each other, you shouldn't let the dogmatic delusions of others deter your desire for pursuing a marriage/wedding, if that is what is desired.

1) Yeah, I understand that. But to me, the things I do will only affect people in the short term, whereas in the long term nothing matters.
Just me.

2) A gap year is a year between graduating high school and starting college.

Do it. Don't do it to take some stupid burger-flipping job, do it to go see life. Travel and explore, this may be your best chance.
