Humans created god after their own image. God cannot be anything else than it's creator.
The more primitive and violent the culture was, including their inhospitable desert environments, the more blood thirsty their gods became. Reflecting the constant fight for precious resources, for survival.
The intolerance of monotheism to the more easygoing polytheism.
