funny you should mention those, have an imlaw who worked in one of those factories and brought home some non saleable ones (shit I've been drinking , do you think my vocab could get any worse?)
antways, they were good for hangovers and...well...don't know what else was in them bit they were rejects. Perhaps I'm braindamaged.

xena, perhaps you are and I are on the same page but different paragraphs. I did not say we are the most knowledgeable people who have ever lived (though in general, on average ,by far, we are). I am saying I am impressed at how much more intelligent the posters are in here and they tend to be much younger than I am. I think education for the masses since the late 1800's has been the reason for the rise in atheism. Knowledge breeds skeptism, which in turns breeds heresies, this history has shown leads to the easing of certain dogmas which as well tends to lead to further skeptism.
I do not share your opinion than mankind is retarded or going to be so, or that civilizations have been cyclic.

Religion has survived for a number of reasons, among those being ignorance. the most prevalent reason is that to a large majority of theists is it's installed into them since the moment of their birth. And I agree, education was the reason for me dis-believing in religion.
