Oddly, I don't labor anymore (I depend on investments for income) and yet once I purchase something with the fruits of my investments, most people would consider it "owned" by me.

We're moving rapidly towards more and more automation. I amazes me how little of what we consume is made with actual human labor now.

There's really still a lot of labor involved in designing, maintaining and deploying such equipment though.

Wasn't that one of Marx's predictions about how capitalism would fail? That labor would get pushed out by machines?
