Same here. "Republican" does not automatically mean "conservative", "evangelical", "fascist", or any other particular name. I have a general dislike for all politicians regardless of the group they ally themselves with, but I don't treat Republicans any different than I do Democrats.

To answer your question: On a case by case basis
Some Republicans I know are utterly disgusted by what's gone on in Washington and feel like their party has betrayed them. Some are voting for the Dems this years strictly to punish their party, some are voting for the Dems in an attempt to genuinely change directions. Other's aren't voting at all because they are just too disgusted by the whole situation.
And then some are still clinging to the Rovian 'If you're not with us you're against us' ideology. These are the people who keep sending me the emails about how Obama is secretly a terrorist looking to destroy America (Because, ya know, his daddy was a Muslim and his middle name is Hussein. EVADANCE!) and how Hilliary wants to tax all of us into oblivion and use the money to build a huge Scrooge Mcduck style Money Bin to go swimming in. These are the ones who still cling to the idea that their party (for now anyway) is still actually about small government.
These people need to take a long walk of a short pier as far as I'm concerned.
