| Wow. I am so sorry. I'm a Christian and I was even at the Indescribable tour and heard that talk. My boyfriend and I were maybe the only two not clapping when he showed the picture that 'proved' Christianity! As if giving some science picture of a protein resembling one of the most common structures on earth is convincing. For some Christians it may be reassuring in some twisted way, but even some Christians are appalled at this kind of discussion. I'm so sorry that Jesus and Christianity are so different. |

so are we. so are we.
there's some good stuff in the Bible, if you're looking for moral, kind and unselfish examples... too bad, all of the hate, genocide and 'abominations' are what people seem to be drawn to.
EDIT: also, welcome!

Theory:
Golden ratio. Perhaps the protein evolved to intersect in the golden ratio the same way the romans nailed two plans of wood together so that it would match up with the body/arms of a man so that they could nail him to it. It may not even be coincidental >.> _________________ "What I'm saying is, if God wanted to send us a message, and ancient writings were the only way he could think of doing it, he could have done a better job." --Carl Sagan

Is God some kind of voyeur, or is he more like the govt., bugging our phones and prying into our bank accounts? Either way, it's very creepy.

If I were Jesus, I would have complained loudly about that. "WTF, dudes, you expect me to be crucified on that piece of shit?? Do you not know who I am?? I'm the SAVIOR OF THE ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD!! The savior of the world is NOT going to die on something that looks like a three-year-old kid put it together with sticks and glue. Take it back and DO IT RIGHT THIS TIME or I'll make sure your sorry asses burn in hell!" _________________ Kryten: Don't you believe that God exists in all things? Aren't you a Pantheist?

I seem to recall a quote where even Gandhi noted the difference between Christ and Christians. _________________ Regarding creationists: Aren't these the same people who gave us alchemy and astrology, and who told us the earth, besides being flat, was at the center of the universe? I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ. -- Ghandi
Jesus had some awesome and radical ideas. I don't know why so many in the church claim to worship him and yet don't follow any of his examples. Ghandi is a great example of the teachings of Jesus lived out in a life. I'm constantly amazed at how much some Christians squabble about creation, a story that took up only the opening chapters--hardly even the intro--of the Bible! How is that love?? How is that affecting change or making this world a better place?? We really are called to so much more. |

The problem may be that Jesus (according to the Bible) is nothing like his dad (according to the Bible).
YVHV: See this Jesus? It's the foreskins of the Israelites. They were dedicated to me to show their devotion to me.
Jesus: Dad, you're a pervert. Now explain to me again why I had to die. _________________ Nos laetus edo qui votum opprimo nobis.
