| The Presidency is nothing more than a tenuous remnant of a monarchy. Why do we need a president? |

I think that people generally look to individuals for leadership. Whether it be a president, monarch, prime minister, etc.. People generally are more able to relate to an individual than a group like parliament or congress. _________________ "Agnostics: Atheists without balls." -Stephen Colbert |

Well, to a point I suppose, yes. More like a wolf pack needs an alpha dog. Actually, much of our behavior imitates wolves. Some of the similarities are quite startling. _________________ "Agnostics: Atheists without balls." -Stephen Colbert

Do you intrinsically feel the need to chime in on EVERY thread, even if it displays your ignorance on the topic? |

WTF are you talking about? Wolves are not divine creatures, but monarchs are. |

How would eliminating the Presidency get around the Gettier problem? What does Locke have to say about THAT!?!

? I'm talking about human behavior, not rationalizations for those behaviors. _________________ "Agnostics: Atheists without balls." -Stephen Colbert |

My handsomeness and lack of emo tendencies is irrelevant to this thread. Tell me Scott, why do you need a president? |

That justified true belief is not sufficient for knowledge. _________________ The whores and politicians will shout 'save us'...

Why do you think humans are more inclined to look for subjugation rather than freedom? |

Is following a strong leader always subjugation? Sometimes it is by choice, which would be "freedom".
Leaders don't always have to be tyrannical. Would you say MLK was "subjugating" those who looked to him for leadership? Or other leaders who inspired people to challenge the status-quo? _________________ "Agnostics: Atheists without balls." -Stephen Colbert |
