I'm not Dobie, but I'm a 46 year old man and I don't drink and NEVER have. I've had at most a sip or two of alcoholic beverages in my entire life. And that includes once when it was dark and I was reaching into a cooler and thought I grabbed a Coke. What I actually grabbed was a beer, nasty surprise. _________________ Please visit my site at www.caseagainstfaith.com featuring critiques of Lee Strobel and other apologetics

For all the people who don't drink...
Don't you want to try it for the experience at least? _________________

To say that I "don't drink" is a bit of a misnomer as I have actually have had a few beers/glasses of wine in my day. I don't care much for beer (tastes bad) but I do like some red wines and raspberry flavored rum
Thing is, I've never been drunk before and have no plans too. Why? Because getting drunk would require that I place myself in a position where I could very easily puke and...that's not going to happen.
I have however gotten a buzz...or atleast I think it was a buzz. I got light headed and had an irresistible urge to giggle. _________________ "Not everything that steps out of line, and thus 'abnormal', must necessarily be 'inferior'" - Hans Asperger, 1938 |

I agree. My favorite religion-themed episode is "Who Watches The Watchers" from TNG. That's the one where they're observing a primitive group of people and one of them gets injured and while on board the Enterprise in sick bay he sees Picard gives out orders to everyone, so when he gets back he starts telling everyone about "The Picard".
Later in that episode, when Picard to trying to convince them that he's not a God, Deena Troi says something very insightful about religion: "That's the problem with believing in a supreme being, trying to determine what it wants."
Man, I loved TNG. _________________ "Not everything that steps out of line, and thus 'abnormal', must necessarily be 'inferior'" - Hans Asperger, 1938 |
