What kind of implications do you want me to take? Do want to imply that you realised the error of your statements or is it something much more wicked?

As an atheist, I see any human life as the one shot that someone gets. And for politicians to allow for children's lives to be wasted away because of a hopeless cause is something that really racks my nerves. Especially the children...don't hurt the children.

Frankly, I am sick of hearing all about the "children"! Big fuckin whoop. This county as a whole doesn't give a shit about saving lives, it just makes a big deal out of prosecuting those who intentionally take one, but a system that allows thousands to die is okay because it is too inconvienant for the masses to change.
Bah! We don't give a fuck about who dies as long as it doesn't affect our lives.

This do be a paradox.
I'm all for stupid self-destructive liberties, but what about those born into said stupidity?
What about those who have yet to say, "You're fuckin' nuts, Ma, if you need me I'll be at the hospital."
Where do we draw the line before we tell the guv'mint to tell us how to raise children?
Your thoughts, more! More!

People have enjoyed torturing themselves and others for centuries, mostly with religion as an excuse. Maybe they think their loving creator will bless them if they sacrifice their children to him.

You might have a point there. I mean, do these folks really believe that wishing is going to cure their kid with (insert nasty, treatable malady here), or are they just following along?

No more than any other country when you dig around for similar news. Even then don't believe everything you read either here or in general. Get as many facts as possible. The news exaggerates or goes for shock here as it does in your country. And this particular OP has exaggerated what is allowed as the title so vividly points out. Poisoning children is not allowed.

Medical care or the lack of it is what the issue really is. As one poster mentions, millions more families go without health insurance which could cause the exact same scenario where a child dies for lack of simple care.

well most jury members are going to religious in some form or fashion so recognizing bullshit is probably not their gig.

consequently did you know that all but one state has the word god or higher power in their constitution. how can this be? seems a bit unconstitutional to me.
